All    the    way    from    the    Hackney    brothers trying   to   hustle   their   45   record   up   and   Down Jefferson   Avenue   into   Downtown   Detroit,   to the    brand    new    African    American    History Museum   at   the   Smithsonian   in   Washington D.C,     this     45     record     (pictured     top-right below),   is   one   of   only   500   original   records printed    and    released    by    Death    in    1976. David   passionately   passed-out   those   records throughout   his   Detroit   journeys,   so   it   is   only imaginable    what    journey    this    record    took. Love   and   thanks   to   record   collector   Robert Manis who donated the piece.

 DAVID HACKNEY LP COMING IN 2019?

Plans   to   release   a   David   Hackney   LP   is   being explored   and      will   feature   songs   and   special recordings    made    by    David    spanning    from 1971   to   1995.      Musical   tracks   and   songs   are being   carefully   reviewed   and   selected   from the   archives   of   David   Hackney,   Death,   and the    4Th    Movement    which    will    present    an array       of       never-before-released       music written,   performed,   and   recorded   by   David Hackney,       or       recorded       under       David’s direction.

The   first   4Th   Movement   LP   is   slated   to   be released    in    June    2018.    The    LP    recording featuring   the   Three   Hackney   brothers   who in   1980   changed   the   name   of   the   band   from Death      to      The      4th      Movement      making spiritually   inspired   Rock   music   with   a   sound that     is     undeniably     the     continuation     of Death,   only   with   a   new   name.   If   you   have seen   the   film:   “A   Band   Called   Death”,   then you   know   the   story   of   the   Death   transition into    The    4Th    Movement.    Check    out    the music   and   lyrics   written   by   David   and   Bobby Hackney,    and    performed    by    the    original Detroit-born     Hackney     brothers.     Once,     a much    sought    after    hard-to-find    collector’s item,    the    original    master    recordings    have been   un-vaulted   and   mastered   to   the   true- sound   of   the   original   analog   recordings   and are   now   available   worldwide   on   Drag   City Records.
